Instructions

Remember the cultural dimensions of Erin Meyer and Hofstede? Remember how you scored yourself on the various cultural dimensions? Let’s see if you are able to demonstrate behaviour that is the complete opposite of what you are used to!

The following exercise is designed to help you identify some cultural behaviours that are very different to what you are used to. You will find several statements asking about the way in which you prefer to communicate and the way in which you prefer to learn, think and apply knowledge.

First read each statement, then decide which behaviour is closest to your own. If you identify with both statements, choose the one you identify with more often, or in more situations. Now, plan a moment in the following week where you will practice this ‘new’ and unfamiliar behaviour. It is important to capture and reflect on your experience. Once you have tried out the new behaviour, try to answer the reflection questions in the comment section below the statement.

This exercise is meant to make you reflect; there are no right or wrong answers and there is no minimum score required to pass.

Start the exercise by clicking the "Take the survey" button below!
