Let's put your newly acquired knowledge into practice!
For the next exercise, try to find out what the most popular television shows are of your destination country and see if you can watch parts of them on YouTube. It will help you develop your cultural intelligence and knowledge about a specific culture.
To check whether you are able to pick up on some of the visible parts of your host culture (from the Cultural Iceberg Model), do the exercise below about body language. Closely observe how people dress, greet and interact with each other. While watching, please tick the boxes that match your observations and reflect on what the individuals concerned are trying to communicate. Remember that there are no good or wrong answers in this exercise.
