Instructions

Selecting courses at your host institution will be different and potentially more difficult than at your home university.

Typically you will research and select courses you are interested in studying at the host institution. Then, you will gain approval from an academic at your home institution before you depart, usually using a course approval form.

Course selection takes place at the start of term when things are already busy; there can be deadlines, specific times to sign up, and waitlists. All of these can cause anxiety. However, if you follow the guidance from your host institution everything can be resolved.

Sometimes, students just cannot get all the courses they want. If this happens to you, try the following steps. Depending on the number of courses you need this should take about 15 minutes.

This exercise is to help you map out your current course situation and narrow down your chances and interest list. This will help you have a clear overview of what to expect and what the possibilities are.
